A Few Tricks to Prevent Hair Fall

Prevent Hair Loss

I hate that I was losing my hair.

It represents my youth and I kind of think of it like I imagine a lion would think of it’s mane. But, sadly, I may not be able to keep it forever. However, there are ways that one can help prevent hair from falling out that you can do at home—without having bottles of Rogaine or other “hair drugs” lying around for all to see. Here’s a few:

Cleaning Products

Believe it or not, the kind of shampoo you’re using could be contributing to your hair fall. The cheaper it is, likely the worse it is for your scalp and hair.

According to my stylist, hair loss is partly because the hair isn’t being nourished by a steady flow of blood through your scalp, which gets worse as you age or get stressed. One solution to this is using a shampoo that has tea tree oil in it. In addition to being a natural astringent, tea tree oil actually stimulates blood flow, and can bring more nourishment to your hair, preventing the fall.

I’ve seen the best results with Jason Bodycare Shampoo with tea tree oil. In addition to having that key ingredient, it lacks sodium lauryl or laureth sulfates, which can accumulate on your scalp causing dandruff or, even worse, contributing to your hair fall. Plus it smells delightful.

If you want to go all out, you can spring for a tea tree oil conditioner as well. Nature’s Gate Rainwater Conditioner smells heavenly and has that same hair-stimulating oil as the above shampoo. It makes your hair much softer than a lot of salon products, too. Heck, I’ve even heard friends say that it helps a ton with psoriasis. It’s good stuff, and it can help keep your hair around, too!

Home Salon

Another popular home remedy for hair fall is having regular scalp massages with oil. Sounds nice, doesn’t it? If you boil coconut or olive oil with cumin seeds, garlic pods, dried lemon peels, or even Indian gooseberries, strain the mixture clean, and massage that into your scalp on a regular basis then you can see some amazing changes.

I tried it for a couple weeks; it relieved stress and kept some of my hair from falling out. The only reason I stopped was because it was a little time consuming.

In it’s place, I started using 100% aloe vera gel, which I’ve found works just as well, but doesn’t make the same mess. I like Fruit of the Earth brand because it’s pure aloe vera with no alcohol. Plus, it’s great to have around in case of sunburns.

Other Home Remedies

The last home remedy I want to recommend is changing your diet. More protein and more omega-3 fatty acids will help keep your hair healthy and strong.

Plus, adding more vegetables in will increase your intake of vitamins A, B, C, and E, all of which are important for nourishing your skin and hair. So eat healthy, relax, and have a scalp massage if you want the hair fall to be a thing of the past.
